On March 22nd, the launch ceremony of Transcripts of the Proceedings of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East jointly published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press and National Library of China Publishing House was held in the Guest of Honor China Pavilion during 2014 Salon du Livre de Paris. Guests attended the ceremony include Ms Li Lu, Head of the planning and management office of the National Press Foundation; Mr Xu Jiong, Director-General of Shanghai Press and Publication Bureau; Ms Zhao Xiuling, Deputy Director-General of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Bureau of State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China.

Guest Speakers include Mr. Han Jianmin, President of SJTU Press; Prof. Xiang Longwan, Son of Chinese prosecutor of Tokyo Trial -- Mr. Xiang Zhejun, and Honorary Director of Tokyo Trial Research Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Prof. Jacques-Olivier Boudon, Director of Institute of Contemporary History, Université Paris-Sorbonne; Prof. Cheng Zhaoqi, Director of Tokyo Trial Research Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The launch ceremony was hosted by Mr. Cao Kefan, a famous host from Shanghai Media Group. 

 

Transcripts of the Proceedings of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East  is the first book detailing the Tokyo War Crime Trials, marking the 68th anniversary of China's victory on the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-45).

The book series is 50,000 pages long and comprises 80 volumes. It has been jointly published in English by Shanghai Jiaotong University Press and the National Library of China. The book covers the details of the Tokyo War Crime trials that ran from May 3, 1946 to Nov 12, 1948.
